Lovely Monday on Kofinary Espresso Bar

Kofinary Espresso Bar has been jazzing up the coffeeshops league for the past two or three years. Located on Dokter Cipto Street, this one has become my go-to coffee shops during my university days. Beside the fact that this place is somehow give me a peaceful state of mind, the coffee here is superb!


This coffee shop has a more industrial type of theme with the almost dark-coloured wall. Although for some people, the industrial look gives the sense of mess, this coffee shop will give you a homey feeling. The chair selection here is (I might say) unique but comfortable. The fact that this coffee shop happened to be next to a furniture shop gives me somehow a certain feeling that all the furniture in the coffee shop are from that store. But, it's just my assumption.

This place is quite calm; it is very suitable for doing some work. From the outside, the coffee shop seems small. However, you can see more space when you enter the coffee shop. There is a smoking area, too.

Let's talk about their coffee. I consider their coffee is the best one I can get in the town. Kofinary provodes a lot more options than the rest coffee shops in town. Both coffee and non coffee drinks are available. Their selection ranging from tea, chocolate, to frappe. However, this menu selection is not as common as you see elsewhere. This coffee shop gives you a twist within their provided menu. Also, the coffee here does not really taste that acid-y. It is worth the money.

My personal favorite spot to sit in while sipping my coffee: by the window. Kofinary has a quite big window and you can sit on the shared table by the window.

To put an end to this post, I would like to talk about what to get while you are visiting Kofinary. I love their cafe latte, but for the recommendation you can get Cho & Co. It taste exactly like Mocha but the taste of the milk does not really stand out which I love. You will mostly taste the chocolate and coffee combined. If you are not a fan of coffee, you can order their Ginger Ale or their mojitos. They are very refreshing!

A Productive Evening at Peacock Coffee Gajadmada

Peacock Coffee is probably one of the hippest coffee shops far before coffee shops in Semarang become popular. Located in Gajahmada, one of the most strategist locations in the city, Peacock Coffee has its own appeal—to be honest this coffee shop is quite unique. From the outside, this coffee shop doesn’t look quite spacious. However, your eyes can trick you. In fact, this two-story building can hold quite a lot of people in it. If you are a non-smoker, the first floor is for you. There is one large table which can be used as a shared table. Behind the stairs, the tables are made for 1 to 2 persons.
